Number nightstand

Well I guess it's been a long time since I have blogged. We moved in October into a fixer upper and every waking moment has been spent on that and we still aren't entirely settled or renovated but we are in the house. Some day I will put pics up of that. Anywho back to the post at hand. My son wanted a nightstand for his new room. I had come across this darling salvaged vanity part and thought it make a perfect nightstand. So away I went. I felt lazy so I just grabbed some dreamy chalk paint in the color serene. Went on dreamy too. Then gave a quick run with the steel wool for some light distressing along with that smooth buttery feel I love. Stenciled the numbers on the drawers. It's getting freshly painted black handles which are drying at the moment. Then the waxing and buffing too. I'm so in love with it I kinda wish I was keeping it for myself. Lol.

Winston the end table in the rough

Well he is another rummage sale find. He was rough but the rougher and more battered the better I like them. He was mostly bare wood so I decided to just see how mms goes on bare wood. I've only read abt it. Another first for me was using luckets green. So far I'm in love. He may need a second coat or he may get a wash of grain sack. It started to rain so I had to put him away to dry while I think on it.

Trudy the table

I got this cute little aqua table last weekend while scavenging. As my husband tells me it doesn't matter what it is if it's aqua I'm gonna buy it. As much as I loved the color I wanted to tone it down a bit. So I whipped up some grain sack mms with bonding agent and went to town. She awaits her distressing and waxing and buffing. It started to rain which literally rained on my painting parade.

Saved from the Scarp Yard!

Well here it is.  A very sad metal stool!  My husband was taking scrap to the metal yard and saw it and brought it home for me.  What a great guy!  Needless to say I knew all it needed was some TLC and MMSMP!  So I mixed up some Eulalie's Sky and started painting away.
Part way through painting I remembered this little night stand and decided to paint her to join the darling stool.
I lightly distressed the nightstand and then hemp oiled.
I have been doing a lot of painting lately but this is my first post.  Hopefully there will be more to come!  I am in a rush to finish everything I want to finish in the next year because we are expecting twin baby boys in September!
Happy Painting!

Flower blessings.

Well it has been very challenging doing any flowers this year. We have gotten so much rain and the mosquitoes are fierce. I do not do bugs.

Mms painted hutch for the barn sale

She was a very retro hutch which I walked away from 3 times. Just couldn't see any possibility for her at all. I ended up calling my son to help load her in the back of my sequoia. Just in case you never know right? Well after staring at her in the doorway of the barn becuz there was absolutely nowhere else to put her. I decided it was time to do something with her shabby her up or take her to good will. Well her hideous glass sliding doors on the top had to go and so did her awful bottom brown doors. Just terrible looking    So hunky went to town removing stuff then added a shelf to the top for me. I sanded her down painted her in miss mustard seeds French enamel and did her inside in homemade chalk paint. I then made her a little French curtain and put new drawer pulls on. Now she is in her new home all set up in their guest bedroom. She got finished off in miss mustard seeds hemp oil.

Sweet Douglas

Little chest of drawers. He was well worn but I fell in love with him him despite his damaged top and peeling veneer. I knew it was nothing hunky couldn't do so I bought him and loaded him up. I bought him from a barn sale in westby Wisconsin and brought him home to our barn where he would undergo his face lift.
