Matilda

Matilda was a lonely sad little dresser that was in great disrepair but I fell in love with her immediately. Her veneer was peeling and bubbling with missing handles and rope in their place. Hunky took to power sanding her and found beauty beneath. She has slowly been transforming ever since.

Nellie

Darling little wood box. Some sanding some priming sweet pickins milk paint in cleanish color then a wash in homemade chalk paint lots of distressing and some more milk paint then a dark wax with a sound buffing. She then got new turquoise handles for the final pop. $40.00

Vladamere the old wood box

I found him buried in a snow bank and it was love at first sight. He was rough but that aqua chippy paint just had me swooning. My hunky hubby thought he should be thrown in the bonfire but eventually hunky saw the light. His top was pretty well destroyed so hunky used an old cabinet door to make a new lid. He said to me you are all about up cycling so I just up cycled. I love that man. He then put feet on him. I gave him a coat of homemade chalk paint in mint julep. Distressed him then he got dressed in miss mustard seeds French enamel. Distressed again then waxed and buffed out.

February's fantastic find

I love hunting for that perfect piece and last week I found it. I  had every intention of painting him but upon meeting him in person I just wasn't sure I could do it any longer.  He is so gorgeous. With perfect drawers too which is unheard of for me. Sorry about the poor cell phone pix hopefully better pix will come.

up cycling little polka dot skirt

so i had good intentions... i bought this adorable, ruffled, polka dot, little girl's skirt. it was intended for one of my many beautiful nieces. it really was. when all of a sudden i held it up and a light came on literally... i thought this would make a perfect lamp shade cover. i love ruffled things. so here is the transformation of the little polka dot skirt
